Falmouth 2 – 1 Tavistock AFC

Tavistock travelled to Falmouth for their opening league fixture of the season and were very unfortunate not to come away with at least a share of the points. The Lambs had a really good opening fifteen minutes when they played some really good possession football, with controlled passing and movement off the ball. This was causing the home defence some real problems, and Tavistock went close to opening their account when Kojo Ofori’s shot was saved, after a fine move by Kinsman and Johnny Wyatt.

The trialists included Lithuanian striker Nikolaj  Misiuk, Wigan midfielder Joe Holt, French striker Joseph Mendes and former Manchester United  Academist Colin Watson.

Andy 'Meedo' Meeds Tavistock AFCANDREW MEEDS – Born 18th June 1971

This evening is a great chance for all of us at Tavistock AFC to pay tribute to a truly great man both on and off the pitch… Mr Andy Meeds.

Affectionately known as ‘Meedo’, Andy made his debut for Tavistock AFC twenty-four years ago, in August 1987, and has since gone on to amass an incredible 750 games for the Lambs.

In 1988, Andy joined the Royal Navy and, as a consequence, his appearances were restricted to whilst he was on leave. Andy has represented both the Royal Navy and Combined Services and, since leaving the services in 1998, has been virtually an ever-present as Tavistock’s ‘Number One’.
