University of Plymouth FC ‘C’ 3 – 1 Tavistock AFC 3rds

Tavistock will rue their missed chances in a game that they should have won convincingly.

Playing uphill into a strong headwind, Tavistock failed to show up for the first 20 minutes and their sloppy football was punished as they conceded three early goals. However, Tavistock came back strongly in the later stages of the first half and were awarded a penalty for a foul on Dan Lee. Sadly, Cadan Lowther saw his spot kick saved, but this disappointment was shortlived, as Scott Dent fired home just before the break.

Playing with an injury ravaged squad, and without a recognised goalkeeper, Tavistock were never at the races against their local opponents and found themselves 5 – 0 down at halftime.

Tavistock AFC 3rds 7 – 1 Princetown FC

This game was always going to be a competitive local derby between two newly-formed football teams and it was Tavistock who claimed the bragging rights.

Princetown started the game brightly and, with the wind on their backs, dominated the territorial battle for most of the first half without ever threatening to breach the solid Tavistock defence but, as the half progressed, Tavistock settled into the game and started to take control in midfield, launching their own counter attacks.
