New signing for Tavistock AFC Brandon Pursall joins Tavi on-loan for rest of the season
TAVISTOCK AFC are delighted to announce the signing of Plymouth Argyle defender Brandon Pursall, who will join the club on-loan for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.
The highly-rated 18-year-old stopper has come through the ranks at Home Park and made eight appearances for the Pilgrims – with three this season – all of which coming in the EFL Trophy.
With Dan Evans currently injured and suspensions to centre backs Taylor Scarff and Warren Daw, the Lambs were keen to strengthen at centre half ahead of the Devon derby with Bideford on Monday.
Tavistock boss Stuart Henderson said: “Brandon is a player I’ve been aware of for some time and someone I rate very highly. He’s probably at a stage in his career where he will benefit from playing regular men’s football and with the suspensions and injuries we have at Tavistock right now, he will certainly get opportunities with us.
We felt with Dan Evans injured and with suspensions for both Taylor Scarff and Warren Daw, following their red cards at Willand, that we needed reinforcements at centre half, and we are delighted to welcome Brandon to the club.
I’m sure everyone will give Brandon a warm Tavi welcome and he will fit in with the rest of the lads.
“We would like to thank Plymouth Argyle for allowing this loan transfer to happen and hope this can continue our excellent relationship with the Pilgrims as we play a part in the development of a very good young player of theirs.”
Pursall goes straight into the squad for our clash with Sean Joyce’s Robins as the Lambs look to get back to winning ways. Kick-off at Langsford Park is at 3pm.
