Manager Stewart Henderson was forced to make changes, with Dan Evans, Shane Krac both unavailable, and Lewis Daw on fit enough to take a place on the bench. Owen Evans and Warren Daw switched to the centre of defence. The Lambs started on the front foot and almost took the lead in the fourth minute Glynn Hobbs produced a delightful cross, but Josh Grants first time effort was inches wide of the target. Two minute later the visitor’s took the lead a fine passing move got the ball to Jack Crago, who cut inside his full back and unleashed a fierce low shot from twenty yards which nestled in the far corner of the net. Camelford keeper Grills was then called to make two great saves to deny Hobbs and Grant. The home team were limited to long range efforts with the Lambs back four in fine form. The Lambs were now dominating the game so it came as no surprise that they doubled their lead in the twenty fifth minute when a quick break saw Glynn Hobbs provided an inch perfect cross for Josh Grant to head home at the far post. The visitors made it three in the thirty fifth minute when another flowing move saw the ball find Luke Brown who waltzed pass his defender, cut inside an unleash an unstoppable shot that thundered into the far top corner of the net. Just before the interval the Lambs made it four, when the alert Glyn Hobbs took a quick free kick after being fouled, a cross from the right was headed home by Josh Grant. The home team made a couple of changes early in the second half, but it was the visitors who almost made it five, Jack Crago provided a really good pass that found Glynn Hobbs who chipped the ball over the advancing keeper, only to see his effort go inches over the bar Camelford were now having a fair share of possession and were now pressing forward playing some fine football. Josh Oak was called upon to make a fine save to deny Gusterson from scoring. A great pass from Ben Cross put Hobbs in on goal, goalkeeper Grills did just enough to force Hobbs to go wide as he rounded him, giving defender Balsdon enough time to recover and clear his shot off the goal line. The home teams best effort came in the 64th minute when a fine move saw Gusterson head over when well placed. Glynn Hobbs was denied by another goal line clearance four minutes later. The home teams substitutions had the desired effect they were much more competitive in the second half with Boxal and Hamley providing some craft in midfield and Harrison providing a threat down the right. Jack Crago then had a fierce shot cleared off the goal line for a corner kick. The Lambs continued to create chances but failed to add to their goal tally. The game ended with the Lambs deserved winners. This was a game of two halves, in the first the Lambs football was outstanding and their finishing sublime. However in the second period the team took their foot off the gas, and they wasted several opportunities to add to the four goals scored in the first first. It was a good team performance with several player having very good games. Glynn Hobbs was in great form leading the front line, creating three of the four goals, and with a little bit of luck could have scored at least three himself. The back four were very good, midfielders Roger and Hallett had fine games, Grant, Crago and Brown caused the home defence problems throughout the game. The result keeps the Lambs second in the league and puts them in good form for the massive game against fellow title contenders Plymouth Argyle Reserves.
