With Josh Oak unavailable Jamie Castle took over in goal. Dave Hallett returned from injury, and Josh Grant was back to play up a front role along side Glynn Hobbs.

The Lambs were denied taking the lead early on when Godolphin keeper Gilbert made two fine saves to deny Glynn Hobbs and Josh Grant from opening the scoring. It was the home team that broke the deadlock in the fifteenth minute, when Carne picked out Simms in the penalty area who placed his header past Jamie Castle into the net.

Five minutes later Gilbert in the home goal produced another great save to deny Jack Crago. Shane Krac then saw his fierce free kick go inches over the bar. The Lambs paid the penalty for not taking their chances. On the half hour the home team doubled their lead, when a fine move saw Lowry run onto a through ball, shooting low across keeper Castle low into the corner of the net. Gilbert in the home goal then made three more great saves to deny Josh Grant Shane Krac and Glynn Hobbs to maintain the home teams two goal lead at the interval.

The Lambs increased the tempo in the second half moving the ball much quicker, this allowed them to start controlling the game, and put the home defence under constant pressure.  Gilbert in the home goal continued to deny the visitor’s from taking the lead, but was finally beaten on the hour when following a fine move, a great pass from Ben Cross found Josh Grant, who thundered the ball home from fifteen yards.

Three minutes later the Lambs levelled the scores when Josh Robins was brought down in the penalty area. Glynn Hobbs made no mistake as he flashed home the spot kick.

Godolphin now had their backs to the wall, as raid after raid, kept their defence under constant pressure, and it came as no surprise when the Lambs took the lead in the 70th minute when a great run by Josh Grant opened up the home defence, his superb cross. was finished off by Jack Crago. Two minutes later after another flowing move, Jack Crago saw his fine header flash inches wide of the target.

In a last ditch attempt to get a point the home team raised their game, but it was the Lambs that looked the more likely scores. This proved to be the case when they sealed the victory in the 83rd minute, when a corner kick taken by Dave Hallett , saw Warren Daw thunder home an unstoppable header to complete the scoring.

This was a terrific comeback after a sloppy first half performance of defensive mistakes and missed opportunities of scoring. The team cannot give teams a two goal start, as there will be no way back against the top teams. Whatever Manager Henderson had to say at the interval had the desired effect, as the second half performance was really good. It must be said that had it not been for a terrific performance by Gilbert in the Godolphin goal, the result would have been even more convincing. There were a number of fine performances but Dave Hallett was terrific in the middle of the park
