The Lambs had to make two changes to their starting line up with leading scorer Glynn Hobb through illness, and Shane Krac under suspension both unavailable. Tyler Elliot and Luke Brown replaced them in the starting line up.

The Lambs made a bright start and almost took the lead in the third minute when a corner kick taken by Dave Hallett saw Dan Evans powerful header thunder against the cross bar and rebound safely away for a throw in.

The home team then showed their attacking intentions when they forced a corner kick, which was well cleared by the visitors defence.  Six minutes later following another corner kick saw Lewis Daw’s fine header well saved by Law in the home goal. Tyler Elliot then produced a fine cross to find Warren Daw, but his fine shot flash inches wide of the target. The Lambs continued to press forward and deservedly took the lead in the 20th minute when a fine passing move saw find Luke Brown who provided the perfect cross for Josh Grant to head home.

This set back stirred the home team into action and they pressed for an equaliser. A free kick by Reed was blocked and cleared,  before the woodwork came to the rescue of the Lambs in the 33rd minute when a shot from Riggs from twenty yards came back off the cross bar and was cleared.

The Lambs then started to regain control and almost increased their lead just before the interval but Dave Hallett’s effort flew just over the bar.

The second half saw the Lambs step up the tempo of their play, both Luke Brown and Jack Crago could not find the target when well placed. On the hour Luke Brown and Josh Grant combined well to open up the home defence, but Brown’s shot flashed inches over the bar. Nine minutes later the Lambs doubled their lead when a fine move saw the ball find Jack Crago on the left flank he cut inside his marker before squaring the ball to Josh Grant to fire home from twelve yards.

Cullompton continued to play some fine football but the Lambs defence were in fine form, and keeper Josh Oak handling of crosses coming into the area was superb. The Lambs created a couple more scoring opportunities but Warren Daw’s header went inches wide of the target,  before Jack Crago saw his fine effort shave the outside of the post. The visitors comfortably saw out the remainder of the game to keep their title challenge on course, with three games to go.

This was another good team performance with everyone putting in a good shift to record another victory. There were many very good individual performances, but all the players worked tirelessly for each other to get a good result, against a good Cullompton team. The next week the Lambs have three massive games and they will need to be at their very best for all three to achieve their goal.
