The Lambs were without Josh Robins through suspension, and Ryan Swain failed a fitness test before the game.
The Lambs got off to the perfect start when they opened the scoring in the third minute. A good passing move saw resulted in the ball finding Ben Cross, his perfectly weighted pass found Josh Grant who slotted the ball home from ten yards.
Seven minutes later a Jack Crago found Dan Sullivan his fierce shot which looked destined for the net was deflected for a corner kick. The corner kick was headed into the net, but the referee adjudged a foul on Cheoweth, so the goal was disallowed.
Launceston levelled in the fifteenth minute, when on the break the left and cross found centre forward Pring, who flashed the ball home.
This lifted the visitors and they then had a really good period of play. Josh Oak in the home goal made a great save to deny Pring from extending their lead. Launceston took the lead in the 20 th minute when they were awarded a free kick twenty two yards from goal, Pring bent his kick around the defensive wall low towards the corner of the net, Oak at full stretch could only parry the ball into the net.
Three minutes later saw Jack Crago in on goal, he did everything right as he slotted the ball past advancing keeper, only to see his effort hit the post and roll to safety.
The Lambs levelled in the 34th minute when Crago found Dan Sullivan, he unleashed a thunderbolt from twenty five yards that nestled in the top corner.
In the 40th minute the visitors regained the lead when the Lambs lost possession, which allowed Davey to fire home from twelve yards. Back came the hosts to level the scores when Tyler Elliot’s shot cannoned back off the upright, but Jake Miller was on hand to hit a shot low into the net.
Just before the interval the Lambs had the ball in the net when a penetrating run by Crago saw his cut back find Josh Grant who fired the ball home from six yards. The home crowd was stunned when the referee ruled out the goal for offside.
The Lambs started the second half at a furious pace, they immediately forced a corner kick, but Lewis Daw’s header went inches wide of the target.
On the hour another corner kick from Dave Hallett saw Warren Daw’s header brilliantly saved by Chinoweth. Seven minutes later he made another great save to deny Josh Grant.
The Lambs were now dictating the play, with Launceston now restricted to occasional Counter attacks. Chinoweth again came to the visitors rescue as pulled another fantastic save to deny Josh Grant. Dave Hallett then saw his thunderbolt from twenty three yard go inches over the bar. It was now all Tavistock but the visitors defence held firm, with Chinoweth in superb form resulted in the home team dropping their first two points of the season.
The team although not on top form will be disappointed in dropping two points, in a game where over the ninety minutes they should have won. Their second half performance deserved to earn them victory, but they were denied by a top quality goal keeping display by Chinoweth
