Manager Stuart Henderson made several changes to the starting line up with Saturday’s F.A. Cup match in mind. Warren Daw, Dan Evans, Dave Hallett, Luke Brown, Jack Crago were on the bench, along with Ryan Swain returning from injury. Lewis Daw started his first game following his injury, along with Jack Tribble, Sam Clifton, and Teigan Rosenquest.
Josh Oak in the home goal was called upon to make a very good save to deny Barker from giving the visitors the lead. The Lambs then started to get their passing game going and Tyler Elliot provide the pass that saw Josh Grant fire inches wide of the target.
In the fifteenth minute a great move resulted in Jake Miller providing a defence splitting pass, Josh Grant was on it in a flash and calmly slotted the ball pass the advancing keeper, into the corner of the net.
On the half hour another fine move saw a fine ball by Tyler Elliot saw Teigan Rosenquest slot home from ten yards, to double the Lambs advantage.
The home team were now dominating the game playing some really attractive football. The closest Exmouth came to scoring was when in a rare counter attack Steer saw his shot from twenty yards go inches over the bar.
The Lambs came close to increasing their lead, but some resolute defending and good goal keeping by Moor saw the score remain 2-0 at the interval.
The home team increased their lead seven minutes into the second half, when a fierce shot from Josh Grant came back off keeper Moor, the ball fell to Rosenquest his shot was blocked but Jack Tribble made no mistake as he riffled the rebound into the net.
The Lambs continued to completely dominate the game both Tyler Elliot and Josh Grant had really good efforts well saved by Moor in the visitors goal. Exmouth then had a dangerous counter attack but Baker’s effort from twenty yards went way over the bar Jack Crago then replaced the impressive young debutant Sam Clifton in the 72nd minute. He was soon in the action as he provided the pass for Josh Grant who’s shot was brilliantly turned away for a corner kick by Moor.
A perfect cross from Ben Cross saw Jack Crago head inches wide of the target. Oak was called upon to make a smart save to deny Schefly from reducing the arrears.
A convincing victory was sealed in the dying minutes when Teigan Rosequest got his second goal, when he fired home from eight yards.
This was another fine team performance with the new youngsters showing their talents, and looked very comfortable at this level of football. A perfect preparation for Saturday’s F. A. Cup tie. Man of the match was the impressive young full back Ben Cross.
