The Lambs bounced back from their F A Cup disappointment by putting in a really good all round team performance. With Dave Hallett not available Jake Miller returned to the starting line up.
It took the Lambs just five minutes to open the scoring when a good move caused panic in the visitor’s defence two shots were blocked before the ball fell to Warren Daw who fired the ball home from twelve yards. Minutes later Dan Sullivan saw his fierce shot flash inches wide of the target. The Lambs doubled their advantage in the twelfth minute, a great passing saw the ball find Josh Grant, his defence splitting pass found Teigan Rosenquest, who fired the ball past goalkeeper Piper.
The first real effort by Ivybridge came in the fifteenth minute when they were awarded a free kick, Zimmerman’s strike went over the bar. Five minutes later Luke Brown saw his fine effort from eighteen yards thunder off the cross bar and roll to safety.
In the 38th minute the home team scored their third goal, when another fine move resulted in Dan Sullivan firing home from eight yards.
The Lambs continued to dominate proceedings, the visitors continued to try and play some attractive football, but found it difficult to create any goal scoring opportunities, as the home team pressed them the high up the field, continually regaining possession in the central third of the park.
The second half saw the Lambs continue to control the game, and it came as no surprise when they increased their lead in the 55th minute when they scored a top quality goal. A flowing move from defence to the front saw Dan Sullivan provide the inch perfect pass for Josh Grant to show his class as he riffled the ball home to give the team a four goal lead. The Lambs were now in top gear and made it five three minutes later when Dan Sullivan scored his second of the evening.
With the game won Manager Henderson made three substitutions with Tyler Elliot, Jack Crago and Ryan Swain coming on replacing Luke Brown,Warren Daw, and Dan Sullivan.
Jack Crago was soon in the action when he out paced the visitors defence to blast the ball home from eighteen yards to make it six.
Josh Grant completed got his second of the evening when a penetrating run from Josh Robins, resulted in his cross into the penalty area, finding Josh Grant who calmly slotted the ball home.
In the 82nd minute the Lambs made it eight when another flowing move saw Teigan Rosequest score from fourteen yards, before Josh Grant completed his hat trick five minutes later when he found the corner of the net with a powerful shot from eighteen yards to complete the scoring.
Praise must be given to Ivybridge as they never gave up, and continued to to play good football, but were just out gunned by a Lambs team in fine form.
This was another really good performance by the Lambs dominating throughout the ninety minutes. The torrential rain had no effect on the Lambs performance as they passed the ball so well, on the slick surface. Everyone put in a good shift, Lewis Daw looked to be back at his best after returning from injury. Once again it was difficult to pick a man of the match, but the way Josh Grant lead the attack, his retention of the ball giving the team a platform to build attacks was superb, this with his three goals just edged it.
