The Lambs started brightly and deservedly took the lead in the thirteenth minute when following a good move Teigan Rosenquest hit a superb right foot shot that hit the bar, but Josh Grant was on hand to slot home the rebound. Two minutes later they almost doubled their lead when from a corner kick the ball was partially cleared but Grant’s fierce shot that looked destined for the net,was,deflected away for another corner kick, which was cleared.
In the 29th Peters in the visitors goal made a terrific save to deny Tegan Rosenquest from scoring. Two minutes later Torpoint levelled the scores, when ex Lambs player Lee Bevan curled the ball into the top corner of the net from a corner kick.
The Lambs restored their goal advantage before the interval when a good ball into the penalty area found Luke Brown who made no mistake as he fired the ball home.
The Lambs had a couple of really good chances early in the second half to increase their lead. Ben Cross fired inches over the bar before Warren Daw headed inches wide of the target when well placed.
Torpoint went close on the hour when Mann shot just wide of the target. A minute later the home team increased their lead with a great passing move that opened up the Torpoint defence when Ben Cross produced the final ball for Jack Crago to fire home from six yards.
Torpoint scored their second when one of their players went down which looked like a bad injury, with players saying “put the ball out ” the Lambs defence stopped, the ball fell to Simmons, he decided to play on, with Josh Oak way off his line he placed the ball over him into the net. The Lambs protested saying the Torpoint player should have put the ball out as some of his players requested. However the goal stood as the referee had not blown his whistle to stop play.
The fifteen minute was closely contended with the Lambs creating some good scoring opportunities both Jack Crago and Josh Grant going close with fine efforts. Torpoint missed an opportunity to equalise when Zallick shot wide of the target.
The home team managed to see the game through to secure another three points.
Although not at their best the Lambs to record another deserved victory, to keep the pressure on the teams above them
