The Lambs progress to the League Cup Final with a fine win over a very competitive Mousehole. With Captain Lewis Daw and Ben Cross not fully recovered from injury took their place on the the subs bench. Teigan Rosenquest took over at fullback with Warren Daw moved in the middle of the back four, and Tallin Burns taking his position in midfield.
The game got off to a fast start with the Lambs creating the first scoring opportunity in the 5th minute a good passing saw the ball find Josh Grant but his shot was blocked and cleared. Six minutes later another fine move resulted in Josh Grant making a fine break down the wing cutting into the edge of the penalty area before making a delightful cross into the six yard box but the ball was inches out of the reach of the on rushing Jack Crago. Takin Burns then provided a similar cross but this time a Mousehole defender was on hand to clear for a corner kick.
Mousehole were restricted to counter attacks and were forced to take shots from long range, which Josh Oak in the Lambs goal dealt with confidently.
Just before the interval a terrific move from the back through midfield saw Dave Hallett find Josh Grant but his shot which looked destined for the net, was brilliantly turned away for a corner kick by Mousehole keeper Williams.
The opening of the second half saw Mousehole having more possession than they did in the first, but the Lambs defence was in fine form and kept them at bay. Mid way through the half the Lambs once again began to dominate the game In the 74th minute from a corner kick Warren Daw saw his fine header go just over the bar. Two minutes later the Lambs broke the deadlock when another fine move saw Dave Hallett find Tallin Burns his penetrating run saw him cut inside his marker a fire home an unstoppable shot from the angle of the penalty area low into the far corner of the net.
Williams in the Mousehole goal then made a great save to deny Jack Crago from scoring. However he made no mistake in the 89th minute when another fine move put him in and he calmly fired the ball home fro twelve yards. Mousehole never gave up but they could not find a way to break down the Lambs defence.
The Lambs deserved their victory over a very well organised, hard working Mousehole team. Ever player deserves credit in a very good all round team performance. The whole squad were the man of the match..
