The Lambs were forced to field a very young side for this friendly, due many of the First team squad carrying minor injuries following the tough fixtures against Plymouth Argyle and Cardiff City.
In the fifth minute Mark Sowden deputising for the injured Josh Oak made a smart save pushing a shot from Smith away for a corner kick which was cleared.
A good move saw Afet Toujani play a delightful pass to Tyler Elliot, but his fierce shot sailed way over the bar. Jack Crago then shot wide of the target when well placed.
The Lambs who were playing some lovely passing football and took a deserved lead in the 20th minute when a good move involving Crago and Pryn exchange passes, to open up the Parkway defence, Jack Crago’s fierce shot rebounded back off Osborne into the path of Liam Pryn who slammed the ball home.
The youngster of the club were more than holding their own against a very experienced team that will be competing in the Wester League next season. Another good move provided a goal scoring opportunity but once again Jack Crago fired over the crossbar.
Ex Tavy player Tiegan Rosenquest went closest for the visitors on the half hour but he dragged his shot wide of the target.
The Lambs were forced to make a change shortly before the interval as Alex Cairo was feeling unwell, with Conner Spear taking his place.
The game continued to flow from end to end, but the home defence were in fine form, with the experienced Dan Evans and young Jack Bough, repeatedly breaking up the visitors attacks, ensuring the Lambs took a well deserved single goal lead into the interval Parkway upped the tempo in the second half and a fine move saw Smith shoot wide of the target. Shortly afterwards the Lambs made a second substitution with young Sole Pengelly taking his place of Tyler Elliot.
Just before the hour mark Hayden Greening replaced Dan Evans. On the hour the Lambs should have doubled their lead when a good move down the left wing saw a good cross find Liam Pryn, but his fine effort was well saved by Osborne.
Parkway levelled the score in the 64th minute when a fierce shot from Krac rebounded off the keeper Sowden falling into the path of Williams who had the easiest of tasks to slot the ball home from five yards.
Afet Toujani who was having a terrific game in the middle of the park provided a perfect pass to Liam Pryn but his shot from the edge of the penalty area went inches over the bar. Toujani then went on a terrific penetrating run at the heart of the visitors defence but his shot flashed inches wide of the target.
The last quarter saw Parkway have their best period in the match as they attacked the home goal forcing several corner kicks, which were always a threat with their height advantage. It was from a situation that Parkway took the lead in the 75th minute when Smith was on hand to head home following another corner kick.
Five minutes later the Lambs levelled the score when a Toujani shot came back off Parkway keeper Osborne, Liam Pryn was the first to react and slammed the ball home.
It was now end to end with both sides trying to get that winning goal. Chances came and went at both ends but it was Parkway that got that lucky break in the 88th minute when from another corner kick a goal mouth scramble ensued and substitute Yetton was on hand to head home from four yards.
There was little time for the Lambs to get the equaliser they deserved, and although they tried it was not to be, so Parkway ran out the winners.
This was a magnificent team performance, a team that was largely made of the younger members of the club. Every player did the club proud and to be able to more than compete with a very experienced Parkway side showed what potential they have. There is no doubt that a number of these young men will be pushing for first team recognition. Well done to you all.
