The team were without several key players including Hobbs, Grant, Crago and Prynn who were not available for this friendly fixture against Southern League One Bideford Town.
The Lambs started very brightly having the much better of the opening exchanges, creating an opening in the second minute when good work by Tyler Elliot set up Luke Brown but his fine shot was beaten away for a corner kick. Brown also went close in the twelfth minute when he saw his powerful shot from a free kick twenty five yards flashed inches wide of the target.
More good work by Elliot put Josh Robins in on goal but his attempt to chip the ball over the keeper went just over the bar. Minutes later A great ball from Luke Brown got Robins in but this time he dragged his shot wide of the target.
As the half progressed Bideford came more into the game, on the half hour Josh Oak had to make a smart save too keep the scores level.
Just before the interval the home team created a couple of half chances but their efforts were wide of the target. A minute before the interval Biddeford were awarded a penalty, which appeared to be rather harsh as it looked as if the contact was shoulder to shoulder. The penalty kick went wide of the goal.
Sam Clifton and Bailey Williams replaced Afet Toujani and Lewis Coombes who both picked up knocks in the first half.
Biddeford stepped up their tempo in the second half and started to create more chances but the Lambs defence were in fine form with Corrie Burns and Warren Daw outstanding at the heart of the defence.
The home team broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute when from a good move the home team centre forward scored. The Lambs made a substitution with young Cairo replaced Elliot.
Back came the Lambs and they levelled the score in the 70th minute when young Bailey Williams who was proving to be a handful for the home defence, with his pace and fine movement off the ball. A fine header from Luke Brown found Williams who calmly lobbed the advancing goal keeper to score. It was the Lambs that were finishing the game the stronger but had a set back when they were reduced to ten men when Tallin Burns was sent off after receiving a second yellow card for a tackle.
The Lambs deservedly held on to get a draw.
Another good performance and work out for the Lambs, from which many positives can be taken. There is going to be real competition for places in the staring line this season
